School of Law
The School of Law was founded in 2004, which has been originated from the Department of Law approved of conferring the bachelor degree in law since 1988，the master degree of Law in civil law, international law，legal history and J.M. since 1996.
At present, there are 46 staffs in the school, including 25 professors and associate professors. 22 teachers are doctoral candidates or have obtained their doctoral degrees. All full-time teachers with great potentials graduated from the leading universities such as Beijing University, Renmin University of China, Wuhan University, China University of Politics and Law, have good educational backgrounds and strong research capabilities
The Law School, adhere to the student-oriented principle, with a strong cultural heritage and good school spirit, has been striving to train legal professionals with good moral qualities, broad prospective and legal expertise to meet the needs of society. The training objectives of "four focuses " have been put forward, namely, the focus on the ideological and moral quality of training, the focus on the cultivation of humanities and social science literacy, the focus on the cultivation of legal minds, and the focus on the ability of legal practice. Based on these training objectives in law teaching methods and means of reform, the "five- in -one" teaching approach (won second prize on teaching award of Guangdong Province) has been proposed. A mock court, a legal clinic, a "South China Normal University Legal Aid Center" and a "Legal Research Center of High Schools" have been set up. Agreements with the District Court, prosecutors and law firms have established 15 practicing bases, a strong impetus to the cultivation of legal practitioners, helping foster the formation of a set of teaching system on theoretical knowledge and practical ability in the legal profession. Meanwhile, the Law School obtains donations from social contribution, setting up the "Guangda-SCNU scholarships", "Kede investment grants" and other funds to reward excellent students and to help students with financial difficulties.

Law
The aim is to teach and train students to master the professional knowledge of law, to get familiar with our laws and national policies to be engaged in legal work and provide legal services as senior specialists in state organs, enterprises, institutions and social groups, especially in the legislature, the executive authorities, prosecutors, judicial, arbitration bodies and organizations. This major includes more than 50 courses: constitution, jurisprudence, the Chinese legal history, civil law, criminal Law, criminal procedural Law, civil procedural law, commercial arbitration law, administrative law, commercial law, intellectual property law, international law, international economic law, private international law, case study etc.. Through learning the basic theory and professional knowledge, the law students can get the professional training in legal thinking and legal practice and improve their abilities to analyze and solve problems.
Law (International Economic Law)
The aim is to teach and train students to master both domestic laws and foreign-related laws and to achieve greater ability both in foreign language and in legal profession. The students are expected to work mainly in foreign related legal institutions as the executive and the judiciary engaging in foreign affairs, the foreign economic and trade enterprises, and the foreign law firms, etc. In addition to general legal courses, this major strengthens the courses of foreign languages, public international law, international economic law, private international law, economics and so on. It also increases the coverage of bilingual teaching programs. Through the study, the law students can obtain the professional training in legal thinking and legal practice and improve their abilities to analyze and solve problems, especially in the foreign- related legal field.
